Wow!

It has been more than a year since I have updated this page! If I had an audience it is now gone :)

But I will update anyways!

As you know we moved to North Carolina last summer, and unfortunately Austin has not been racing. The bike is once again deadlined (I think Austin is a little rough on it here). Anywho, as soon as it is up and going again I will let everyone know what series Austin will be racing.

He did race two races here in the AMA Series. The first race he came in first and the second is when his bike broke :(

My bestfriend's kids are racing the Local Series right now & they love it!

On a nonracing note I am going to join my fellow bloggers and create a more personal blog soon! I will put a link here when I get it up and going.

He is very excited about starting and a little nervous as well (understandably)! So I hope to write more on his races soon!! He'll be racing in the Mini Four Stroke races and I think unbiasedly of course that he is going to do great! Thanks for reading & I hope to have a lot more to post soon!

I'm Back!

Hey Everyone!
Sorry about not writing but school has been hectic and Austin hasn't been racing! BUT, finally he will race this weekend and he is VERY excited to get back to it.

First I'll fill in everyone in on the standings and updates with the Podium Production Series @ Milestone then I will let you all know about the new series he is doing.

As you all (at least all the avid readers of my blog) know Austin's last race did not go very well. When the January 12th race came along his quad was still unfortunately in the shop! Now please understand this was not the shops fault but the fault of the parts suppliers :( Anyways, Austin had to sit this race out.

One race, no big deal! Right??

So now the fourth round at the send of January approaches and Austin who is in second place now overall is excited to be able to race again! His bike is out of the shop and everything is ready to go! NOPE, Mother Nature decide that California is going to have a wet winter! Great for the snowboarders, mountains etc... but now the race is cancelled!!

Again no biggy, race is canceled but at least he didn't miss another race! So now here comes February and the weekend before the race it is absolutely beautiful outside! Here comes Mother Nature once again and all the races are cancelled AGAIN! What was really disappointing was that this weekend was going to be my nephew Nick's first race as well (I'll write about that in my next blog) :)

Okay that's where we are on that series! Podium has been great as always and they have already rescheduled the last two races with the second race being worth double points. There will be one in March and one in April. I'll put the dates up later.

Here's the points now:
1. Kyle 47

2. Austin 45

3. Logan 25

4. Jerry 22

5. Ryean 22

6. Isaiah 20

7. Noah 18

Okay on to the race this weekend:

Podium Productions is doing another series seperate from the series going on at Milestone, It is the EXTREME-X ACTION SPORTS SERIES. This is a four heat series that will start at the Imperial Valley Fair this weekend! Round 2 is in Phoenix at the Maricopa County Fair and we are very excited about that one! We are hoping our Arizona family will be able to attend that race. The third race is at the Orange County Extreme Motosports Expo and the last race is at the San Diego Fair. I am not sure if Austin will be racing the San Diego one because as of right now it only list Rhinos and trophy trucks as racing! We will have to find out more information for that one! So as long as Brian can make it out of the field on time we will be going up to Imperial Valley this weekend! Who can ask for a better time races all day and the fair as well! Austin's excited that he will be able to get Cotton Candy after his race! Too be young again :)

Well I hope that I will be able to write more on Sunday and that Austin actually gets to race again! But, as long as he has fun that is all that really matters!!

Fun but crazy race

Last night Austin had a race at Milestone MX park in Riverside, Ca. It was round 2 of the Podium Production Series...

Unfortunately I was not able to attend because of other obligations but Brian & Austin got to spend some good quality guy time together!

Austin started off strong leading the race when Brian realized that TPTB put Austin in the wrong class and since the classes were split this time Bri had to run on the track and pull Austin off and get him back to the starting line since the right class was racing next! So after four laps with the wrong class Austin began his race w/ his own class. He was leading his class and going strong when he ran out of gas...
Brian ran out once again and switched the tank to reserve and Austin was off again! What should happen next??? Austin is rear-ended by another racer, which my child feels is important to point out to the flagger LOL... Off again and get ready for it YEP... his chain breaks! Fortunately he gets 3rd place & not a DNF (did not finish)with DNF's no point are awarded.

That all was round 1 and you would think an eight year old would be ready to call it quits! Not my son he is in a positive mood and confident that his dad will be able to fix his chain! Super Dad to the rescue!!! Brian is able to fix the bike and get it ready for race 2!!

Determined to do much better in the 2nd race, Austin is focused and ready to go....
He is doing great in the lead for his class and everything is going great! Then Brian notices he is no longer jumping his bike and taking it really easy on the turns. He's on the last lap and still taking it very easy! Then he stops completely because his transmission has quit on him! Brian later finds out that he had stopped jumping and was taking it easy because he knew something was wrong and he heard a noise every time he jumped. Austin figured he could stop jumping, take it easy and just finish the race. Of course Brian is very ecstatic that Austin is at the point of listening to his bike! If he would have kept riding hard the damage could have been much worse. Another racer also blew his transmission (while still riding hard)and there was oil everywhere! Brian and Austin pushed the bike across the finish line and he took 3rd place (out of 3 of course).

Again you would think Austin would be devastated by the night but he was not and is not! He is glad he was able to race and that him and his dad got to spend some quality time together!

Both Brian and I have noticed a change in Austin's maturity level this year in racing and we could not be any prouder of him! He get's to the races and is more involved in set up and even take down! No matter how tired he is! When things do not go his way he does not get mad or even upset. He is very competive but only during the race. The kid that rear-ended him came up and apologized before the 2 nd race and Austin accepted his apology and told him not to worry about it. Which is great since we seen grown adults ready to throw blows at the last race for the same situation! It's pretty funny when you see eight and eleven year olds acting more mature than 20 and 30 year olds!

Brian dropped the bike off this morning and it will be fixed before Austin's next race in January!

Hopefully I have a better report for the next race!

Another Race & Another Win :)

Hey All,
Last night Austin raced at Milestone Mx in Riverside. It was a great race. In the first heat Austin got the holeshot leading everyone out the gate! After some confusions of who was in his class we found out he got First! Originally we thought he had second but they moved another kid out of his class. The second heat was also a great race! He didn't get the holeshot but led the kids in his class! So he got 1st in both heats and brought home a 1st place trophy!! He liked racing at night but found it a little hard to see. He loved the track and after a pep talk from Danny even tried jumping the double jumps! Our friends Mike, Morgan & Danny came out to the race which made it even better! His next race with Podium productions is December 15th! Maybe we will see some of you there!
